Typically we take antique brooches and re-purpose them into statement necklaces, but this bride is giving the brooches to her bridesmaids as special keepsakes- we can't wait to see how she uses them! Rainbow Friday

Strawberry Mojito Recipe

white sugar, for rimming
2 large limes, quartered
1/2 bunch mint leaves
7 strawberries, quartered
1 cup white sugar
1 cup white rum
2 cups club soda
8 cups ice cubes
Directions

Pour 1/4 to 1/2 inch of sugar onto a small, shallow plate. Run one of the lime quarters around the rim of each cocktail glass, then dip the glasses into the sugar to rim; set aside.
Squeeze all of the lime quarters into a sturdy glass pitcher. Toss the juiced limes into the pitcher along with the mint, strawberries, and 1 cup of sugar. Crush the fruits together with a muddler to release the juices from the strawberries and the oil from the mint leaves. Stir in the rum and club soda until the sugar has dissolved. Pour into the sugared glasses over ice cubes to serve.

Last Thursday I had the pleasure of being part of the International Museum of Women's Annual Benefit. As part of the evening's festivities, artists from the Bay Area did 'live art' exhibits that were then donated in the form of a silent auction. It was so much fun and such a great idea for an event of this kind. If you're not familiar, the IMOW is a virtual art museum focused on amplifying the voices of women across the world through art & culture. Recent Wedding

A few pics from a recent wedding we had so much fun working on. We worked with a lovely bride to design custom earrings to match those fabulous dresses, sashes, and beautiful flowers. (How pretty is the color of those dresses?) The dresses aren't totally pink or red, so we went with gold loops and a ruby moonstone to pick up both hues. Everyone looked beautiful...and from what we can see from the pictures, the wedding looked like a lot of fun! Thanks for sharing, Michaela

I can't say I ever thought I'd be a "blogger," but I think this is a good way to keep friends of Margaret Elizabeth jewelry updated on news, events, and the happenings in the exciting world of sparkly stones and fun findings.
